Overview

GSDSI (Global Source Data Solutions Inc.) maintains 301M+ US consumer records across all 50 states. Each record combines identity and contact fields with demographics, lifestyle and interest segments, purchase-propensity models, and life-event signals such as new mover where available. Marketers use the file for direct mail, hashed-email onboarding, CRM enrichment, lookalike modeling, and suppression, all as non-FCRA marketing data handled under consent and legal-basis controls.

How the Consumer File Is Sourced and Built

GSDSI compiles the consumer universe from licensed compilers, public records, self-reported survey and registration data, and permissioned partner contributions, then resolves it into one record per individual and links it to a household. Addresses are standardized to postal-service formats, and emails are offered in hashed form for privacy-safe activation. Demographic and housing attributes are modeled or verified against corroborating sources, and each attribute is delivered with its own coverage so buyers know what is observed versus modeled. Propensity scores and lifestyle segments are refreshed on a recurring cadence, and life-event signals such as new mover are appended as they surface. Consumers who opt out or request deletion are suppressed on the next update.

Common Applications by Buyer Type

Direct marketers use the file for postal campaigns, targeting by demographic, housing, and lifestyle attributes at household granularity. Digital and CRM teams onboard hashed emails for privacy-safe audience activation and match segments to their own customer base for enrichment. Analytics teams build lookalike and propensity models off a seed audience, then extend reach across all 50 states. Retention and acquisition teams use suppression files to remove existing customers, opt-outs, or do-not-mail records before a campaign runs. Because the same taxonomy powers every attribute, an audience defined for mail can be reused consistently for onboarding and modeling.

Compliance and Permitted Use

This is marketing data and is non-FCRA: it must never be used for credit, employment, insurance underwriting eligibility, or tenant screening. GSDSI processes consumer data under consent and documented legal bases, honors CCPA and CPRA sale or sharing opt-out requests as soon as feasible and within 15 business days and deletion requests within 45 days, and excludes sensitive categories from the standard file. Some attributes and use cases carry state delivery restrictions, and licensing scopes permitted channel, retention, and use accordingly. Hashed-email delivery supports privacy-safe onboarding without moving raw identifiers when that is preferred. Buyers can apply their own suppression lists, and GSDSI honors do-not-mail and do-not-contact signals.

How buyers diligence consumer marketing data

Buyers evaluate a consumer file on match rate to their own customers, the accuracy of observed versus modeled attributes, and the strength of the consent and opt-out story behind it. They also confirm the file is non-FCRA and check for state delivery restrictions. A sample match and a documented compliance review typically precede any commitment.

  • Run a match test against a known customer seed and measure address deliverability, hashed-email match rate, and attribute fill by segment.
  • Ask which attributes are observed versus modeled, and request field-level coverage so modeled scores are not mistaken for verified facts.
  • Confirm the consent and legal basis, CCPA and CPRA sale or sharing opt-out handling as soon as feasible and within 15 business days and deletion handling within 45 days, and sensitive-category exclusions.
  • Verify the file is non-FCRA and review any state delivery restrictions and permitted-channel limits before scoping the license.

Frequently asked questions about Consumer Data File

What is the GSDSI Consumer Data File?

It is a US consumer universe of 301M+ records across all 50 states, resolved to one record per individual and linked to a household. Each record combines identity and contact fields with demographics, lifestyle segments, propensity models, and life-event signals where available. It is designed for marketing, onboarding, and modeling, not for eligibility decisions.

Which attributes are available on each record?

Standard fields include full name, postal address, phone, and email (available hashed), plus demographics such as age, gender, household income band, and household composition. Records also carry homeowner or renter status and dwelling type, lifestyle and interest segments, purchase-propensity scores, and life-event signals such as new mover where available. Coverage varies by attribute and is shared before licensing.

Can I activate this data without moving raw personal identifiers?

Yes. Emails are available in hashed form for privacy-safe onboarding and audience activation, so you can match and activate without exchanging raw identifiers. Raw fields are available under license where your use case and applicable law permit. We scope the delivery method to your compliance requirements.

How does GSDSI handle opt-outs and deletion?

GSDSI processes consumer data under consent and documented legal bases and honors CCPA and CPRA sale or sharing opt-out requests as soon as feasible and within 15 business days and deletion requests within 45 days. Consumers who opt out or request deletion are suppressed on the next update, and sensitive categories are excluded from the standard file. Buyers can also apply their own suppression and do-not-contact lists.

Is this file allowed for credit or tenant screening?

No. The Consumer Data File is non-FCRA marketing data. It must never be used for credit, employment, insurance underwriting eligibility, or tenant screening. Permitted uses are direct mail, onboarding, enrichment, modeling, and suppression within applicable law and any state delivery restrictions.
